My Girly, Floral Card For Word Art Wednesday Challenge #300-301

Wow!  Can you believe it?!  300 challenges now have taken place at Word Art Wednesday!   Woohoo!  I'm so thankful for all those who have participated over the years to make Word Art Wednesday what it is today.
The verse for this week is a verse that I've actually memorized.  I'm terrible at memorizing verses.  I didn't grow up in a Christian home and never had the opportunity to memorize verses as a child.  It's much more difficult to memorize anything as an adult, but there are a few verses that I've worked hard to commit to memory and this week's verse is one of them.

Misty D. Designs

Yep, this is definitely an area of my life that needs constant work, especially within the walls of my own home.  I often pray for God to work this verse out in my own life.   I desperately want to be in obedience when it comes to what God has to say about my speech.

Misty D. Designs

Once again, I've used paper from the Paper Studio's Bohemian Vibes line.   I fussy cut a couple of the larger flowers from my 12x12 pack to add a little dimension.  Then, I embellished with a strip of lace and a wood veneer heart, also from the Paper Studio.

Misty D. Designs

As always, I thank you for stopping by today and I encourage you to join the challenge at Word Art Wednesday.  The scripture is always free to use but not required to play along.   If you're on Instagram be sure to tag #wawchallenge to be featured on our page.
Let's go on this week hiding God's word in our hearts and creating for His glory!

Word Art Wednesday #298-299 " I Shall Come Forth As Gold"

Hi, Y' all!
I've said it before and I'll say it again.  There is just something special about making cards for Word Art Wednesday.  I've found that on more than one occasion the verse for the week really speaks to my heart, or seems to be just what I've needed to hear.  For example,   I've been going through some rough waters lately, so I began a Bible study that focuses on allowing God to use the trials in our lives to refine us and produce a faithful endurance in our hearts.   Then,  along comes the Word Art for this week's challenge...

Misty D. Designs

How fitting is this verse?   Exactly what I need to be reminded of.   My God does not waste anything,  I know that even the trials of life are being used for my good, and are all part of His perfect plan.

Misty D. Designs

The verse served as the inspiration for all the gold accents on my card.   I heat embossed gold scroll accents to each corner and used a gold polka dot washi tape to adhere the vellum.
The paper is once again from The Bohemian Vibes paper line that I purchased last time I went to Hobby Lobby.
Lastly,  I added some Nuvo Crystal Drops in Raspberry Pink and a wood veneer heart which is so common to many of my projects.  I really like hearts. :)

Misty D. Designs

Come on over to Word Art Wednesday and join our challenge.  We've always got great sponsors and you're sure to find some inspiration to get your crafty juices flowing.

Bohemian Card For Word Art Wednesday #296-297

Hi, Y'all!
I'm so excited to share my Word Art Wednesday card design with you!  I'm just really excited about this one.  You see, it isn't often that I buy new paper.  I've got plenty in my stash and even though most of the paper lines I own are at least 5 years old, I just can't justify spending the money on new paper.   However, when I saw The Paper Studio's new Bohemian Vibes paper line, I was smitten.  So, without further adieu, I'll just show you the first card I've made using this gorgeous paper line.

Misty D. Designs

Isn't it pretty?!  Get used to seeing lots from this paper line in the coming months, because I can't seem to get enough of it.   After last weeks card mishap, it felt good to get back into my crafty groove. :)

Misty D. Designs

Even the Word Art seemed to match the bohemian feel of this paper line.  And how much I love this verse, wow!  Just let it sink in, mull it over in your mind and tell me if it doesn't transform your thinking in some way.    God's word is amazing because God is amazing!

Misty D. Designs

I invite you to join us at Word Art Wednesday, where the Word Art is free to use in your design and to enjoy meditating upon.   Remember, if you're on Instagram to tag your creations with #wawchallenge to be featured.

My Colorful, Crazy Card for Word Art Wednesday #294-295

Hi, Y'all!
I'm not sure what got into me today, but I must have been in a mood.  My card design for Word Art Wednesday is not my usual style.  You know, soft, pale colors, pinks, and blue hues.... I think I went a little crazy with the colors and the glue.

Misty D. Designs

I even took the pics differently.   I was really feeling it this morning, but hmmm, not so much now.  It just kind of looks like my craft room threw up onto my card base. bleh.   Oh-well, sometimes that's just how it goes in the craft room.  I feel like I should share some sort of metaphor for life here, but na...

I'm so glad that God is not moody and inconsistent like me.  I could never place my trust in a God who is like that.
My God is Faithful, consistent, not ruled by moods or changing seasons.  His plans will be accomplished and His ways are perfect.  The best part is, I belong to this God!  This God sees me and hears me,  all because of what Jesus did on the cross for me and for anyone who desires to follow after Him.
AWESOME!

My Scraplifted Card for Word Art Wednesday #292-293

Hi Everyone!
I'm excited to share my latest Word Art Wednesday design with you all today, because it's a little different from my usual.  I was really stuggling this week with my creative mojo, I just couldn't seem to come up with anything.   So, what do I do when I'm low on the creative juices and need ideas?  I scraplift!  (at least that's what I think it's called)  I have my favorite designers whom I borrow ideas from.  My designs never turn out just like theirs, but that's the point.

Misty D. Designs

For my card design this week, I scrapliftted from the talent Michelle Wooderson.  You can see the original design on her blog "Mish Mash"  She is one of my favorite designers.  I just love her relaxed yet clean style.  I often browse her blog for inspiration when I'm plumb out of ideas.

Misty D. Designs

Michelle used modeling paste on her card,  I didn't have that so I used Gesso mixed with white acrylic paint.  I love the texture this created by just spreading it onto my paper.   I think the white color is a perfect pairing under my verse which speaks of our sins not being remembered.  It just makes me think of my sins being blotted out.
And, Yes, once again I'm  using paper and embellishment from My Minds Eye.  I'd venture say that at least 80% of my craft room supplies are My Minds Eye.  The paper is from the Vintage Charm 12x12 pack and the enamel heart and dots are also from My Minds Eye.
I just can't seem to get enough of their product.  :)

Misty D. Designs

Now we want to see what you've created, even if you borrowed some ideas. 😉 So, please stop by the Word Art Wednesday blog to play along.  The word art is always free to use, but not required to join.
Thank you for stopping by today, and have a wonderfully creative week.

Texture and Stars Card for Word Art Wednesday #290-291

Hi!
I hope you all had a wonderful Independence Day!  I know that I did!  Independence Day is one of my favorite holidays.   I love celebrating the birth of our nation and all that comes along with that.  We truly are blessed!
That leads me to this week's Word Art Wednesday Card.  I used classic Americana elements to design my card, although it's not your typical patriotic colors.

Misty D. Designs

I guess I kinda went for that vintage American look, oh, and stars upon stars. 🌟
I used a very old paper line from My Minds Eye.  I'm not sure if it's even available for purchase anymore, but it's called "Blink of an Eye".   I've kinda been hoarding this paper, it has an all-American, vintage summertime feel to it.  I embellished using some bronze star stickers from Jolee's that I purchased at Micheal's.  I added a strip of gold washi tape across the bottom and cut a piece of burlap doily to finish it off.

Misty D. Designs

I think you can see the bronze and gold a little more in this picture.   I also glued a wood veneer star to one of the bronze stars, just to add a little more texture.

Misty D. Designs

As always thank you for stopping by today.  I encourage you to show us what you've got by joining in on the Word Art Wednesday Challenge.  The word art is always free to use, but not required to play along.  We have awesome sponsors and you just might win!  If you're on IG be sure to tag your creations using #wawchallenge to be featured.

Gold and Blush Card For Word Art Wednesday #288-289

Hi, everyone!
So, I'm suffering from what I think is writer's block today.  I literally sat staring at the screen for a good ten minutes trying to think of something to write, anything.... sadly, nothing!  So, I'll just hop right into sharing my card design for Word Art Wednesday

Misty D. Designs

I used paper from My Minds Eye C'est Chic collection.  It looks like more of a blush color in person.

Misty D. Designs

I printed the verse onto vellum and cut it the exact size as the stripe on my base paper. The vellum strip is wrapped around the base paper then adhered on the backside with Scotch tape. I tore some strips of arrow paper, also from the same paper line and machine stitched it to the base paper.  I then gold embossed some little wooden hearts from The Paper Studio and adhered them to my card.  That's it!  Vellum can be a little tricky to work with.  I'm still fairly new at creating with it and I hope to learn more techniques.  It can be so pretty.
I just love the way the gold shines on this paper too...

Misty D. Designs

I invite you to come join us at Word Art Wednesday and show us what you've got!  The word art is always free to use, but not required to play.
As always, thank you so much for stopping by today.

Nautical Card for Word Art Wednesday

Welcome back!  It's officially my first week of summer break and what better way to start it off then with a new Word Art Wednesday card.  Woohoo!  I just love summer,  the early mornings and late nights.  The birds, the flowers,  the free time to enjoy God's creation.    I'm truly a summertime girl at heart.  I must be excited about this time of year as my card creation reflects where my favorite place to be is.  Can you guess?

Misty D. Designs

If you guessed the beach, then you would be right. 😊
But even with all that I love about summer and all there is to enjoy and be thankful for, I'm still left with a longing that nothing on this earth can satisfy.   An emptiness only Christ Himself can fill.  I'm reminded of a quote from the late C.S. Lewis.
"I have found a desire within myself that no experience in this world can satisfy; the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world."

We were made to "worship and enjoy God forever".   Praise God that He has promised to fill us up with what truly satisfies, HIMSELF.

Misty D. Designs

The base paper for my card is from Hobby Lobby's brand of paper products called "The Paper Studio".  It's from their "mint to be fab" line.
Then I added stickers from my stash.  I kept it pretty simple this week.

Misty D. Designs

My Simple Card for Word Art Wednesday #284-285

Hi, Friends!
Welcome back.   Yes, once again I'm jumping in late for Word Art Wednesday.   I really don't know if I will ever get better at this blogging thing.  I have so many cards to share you with you all, but it just seems like I never get around to the blogging part of things.  At least being part of the Word Art Wednesday design team keeps me consistent at something.
Here is my design for this challenge:

Misty D. Designs

Isn't this week's word art just beautiful??!!  Karen really made my heart happy with this one!

Misty D. Designs

My design is fairly simple, as I wanted the Word Art to be the star of the show.   I just printed the Word Art onto my card base, then I stamped around it. (I used the same stamp technique that I used here, and I think it turned out much better.)   I colored my stamped images using Ranger distress inks and a water pen.  I added some Martha Stewart fine glitter to the butterfly and flower.  Lastly, I embellished with a strip of washi tape across the top, a paper flower, and an enamel heart from MME.

Misty D. Designs

Please stop by the Word Art Wednesday blog to join our challenge and be encouraged by sharing of God's word.
Thank you for stopping by today,
Blessings,
I'm playing along in the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.  "Furry Friends"
( I thought it was still the "bit of Sparkle" theme when I entered.  Oops.  Butterflies are sometimes furry.  I tried to delete my entry, but it wouldn't let me. )
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: "little critters"
The butterfly is a little critter.

He Will Never Leave Me! Word Art Wednesday #282-283

Hello, Y'all!
I hope this post finds you all doing well and staying sane.   I know I'm going just a little bit crazy over here.   Things have been so busy that I feel like I'm treading water.  Thankfully, I belong to the God who can walk on water and the winds and waves obey His voice.  Honestly, what more do I need?
And then, there are His promises.  I personally cling to the promise He has made to never leave me.  That brings me to our Word Art Wednesday verse and my card design:

Misty D. Designs

Isn't this such a precious promise?   God's promises are true.  He can never break them, He does not grow weary.  We can rest and trust in Him!
Oh, how I thrive on this truth.  When my life is like a crazy whirlwind and I don't know what I'm doing from one moment to the next, I can always trust in what God has said in His word.  That is my constant hope.

Misty D. Designs

I used MME the sweetest thing/tangerine papers for my card.  I love this paper line and have actually almost exhausted my supply.  eek!
I fussy cut some flowers from the same papers and adhered them using foam dimensional tape.  I added a strip of lace and a couple of enamel dots for texture.

Misty D. Designs

I invite you to come play along with us at Word Art Wednesday.  You have until midnight on May 23rd to get an entry in and just maybe win a prize. 😊😊😊
Also, If you're on IG tag your entry #wawchallenge for a chance to be featured.  We love showing off your talents!

Rejoice, and Be Joyful! Psalm 5:11 Word Art Wednesday Challenge

Oh, My!
I almost forgot to post today!  My apologies for the lateness of this post.
I just want to invite you all to play along in this week's Word Art Wednesday challenge.
The verse for this challenge comes to us from the Psalms.  Always a great choice, the Psalms are like a healing balm for the soul.  Sometimes when I'm struggling to read from God's word, I just go to Psalms and I'm once again filled with awe at the character of my God.
Here is my card design:

Misty D. Designs

I love that this verse reminds us that the source of our Joy is Christ Himself.   Not our circumstances, or our performance or the stuff we have or don't have.

Misty D. Designs

I chose to use Pink Paislee paper from the Citrus Bliss line.  I've been using this line a lot lately.  It's just so bright and cheerful.  Perfect for this verse.  I fussy cut the lemons and added a little distress glitter to the tops.  I then adhered them using foam dimensional squares.

Misty D. Designs

Come on over and join in the challenge at Word Art Wednesday.  The Word Art is free to use but not required to play along.  The theme is "anything goes" and we have awesome sponsors who love to give great prizes to our winners.  Also, if you're on IG please tag us #wawchallenge to be featured!
Thanks for stopping by today!

Back Again for Word Art Wednesday #278-279

Hi There,
Welcome back.   I've been a little MIA lately.  I'm hoping that with summer break right around the corner that I'll be able to stop in more frequently.  But then again, I've said that before.  Haha, that's why I so appreciate those of you who keep coming back, it's for you that I continue to share my craft and my heart.
The Word Art for this challenge is found in John 12:23.

Misty D. Designs

In the context this verse is found, Jesus is referring to the hour of His death on the cross.   But how can glory be found in such a terrible death such as what Christ experienced?    Because in that moment Christ defeated death, the power of sin, and became our once for all sacrificial lamb!   Christ in that moment finished what He had come to do.   Oh, the beautiful, terrible cross.   Such a seeming contradiction,  but all part of God's perfect plan of redemption.

Misty D. Designs

I'm so thankful that Jesus "endured the cross for the joy set before Him".  That He endured it for me and for all those who will believe.

Misty D. Designs

I invite all you creatives to play along in the Word Art Wednesday challenge.   The Word Art is free to use, but not required.   The theme is "anything goes".   Also, if you're on IG tag us or use #wawchallenge for your chance to be featured.   We love to show off your creative talents. :)

Misty D. Designs

I wish you all a week of growing in the knowledge of Christ.  As we look forward to the celebration of  Easter this Sunday may your heart and mind be drawn to meditate on the gospel and be enraptured by the one who sets us free.

Blessings,

My Encouragement, and a Word Art Wednesday Card

Hi!
Oh, where to begin?  For starters, I will just say that this week being only half over has really been a struggle for me.   It has been full of conflicts, temptations, tears, and sin.  Yes, sin.  I have failed miserably and have not handled what has come my way with grace.   I can honestly say that I was not feeling very creative this week and that my card probably reflects that.  Just keeping it real, this is not one of my favorites,
but this verse...
I had not had a chance to view the Word Art Wednesday for this week until yesterday when I began to make my card.  When I pulled it up on my computer, I was overwhelmed.   It is exactly what I needed to be reminded of with the week that I've had.

Misty D. Designs

"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes".  Just let that thought sink in!   Whoa!  I don't know what else to say.   The overwhelming gratitude of what this verse means leaves me speechless!  I am not deserving for God to promise any of this to me and yet He has.  This verse is referring to what it will be like in Heaven, in the presence of our Great God.  He has promised this end to all who have put their trust in Him.  I'm so thankful for this hope because bad days will happen and I will fail, but His promises remain true!

Misty D. Designs

I used my Taylored Expressions Arbor Accessories stamp to create the background for my card.  I stamped, then heat embossed the gold.  I then watercolored pink over the entire background and watercolored the green leaves.  I used a sharpie pen to draw the leaves.   I was really wanting to try out this technique, but I'm not happy with how it looks with this particular card.  I think I will try it again later with a different style of card.

Misty D. Designs

Thank you so much for stopping by today and for your support of creatives like me.  I would love to see your creations, so please come join us at Word Art Wednesday and link up what you've crafted.

Blessings,
