Prima Design Team Call, 2016 Submission

Hello Everyone,
I'm so excited today!  I've been busy this past week working on a few projects that I've created especially for the Prima Design Team Call!  Maybe I'm being a little too ambitious to even try for the team, but I couldn't help myself.  I just adore Prima products and would enjoy every moment of getting to play with their lovely embellishments and paper lines.  There is a reason why the Prima Design Team is called the "dream team".
One of the requirements for submission was to use mainly Prima products.  I don't actually own much Prima product, it's not readily available where I live.  So, I pulled out everything I own made by Prima and went to work.  The only Prima paper line I have is their Botanical collection circa 2011!  So, that's what I used...on every project. :)
I also own lots of Prima flowers, and Prima Say it in Crystals. I really tried to make the most of the small amount of Prima I had on hand. This will be a picture heavy post, so I'll get right to it.

I  started off making this card because that's what I do... I used Prima flowers, Say it in Crystals, paper, and Say it in Crystals Borders for this card.

I stamped the "hello" sentiment using Tim Holtz distress ink in seedless preserves.  Then I fussy cut the sentiment and covered it using vintage clear glass glitter.  I also cut the Prima Crystals and Borders into pieces to anchor my cluster of flowers and to add some color.

My next project for submission is a layout.

I had a lot of fun getting messy with this one.  I used stucco paste over a stencil for the background and dusted some micro beads and Tim Holtz distress glitter onto the paste before it dried.  I was going for the look of sand and sea glass.

I also splattered on glitter mist.  I used Prima paper and lots of Prima flowers on this layout.

Lastly, I made a tag.  I've never actually created a tag before,  so please bear with me.  It was a fun project to pull me out of my comfort zone.

I used Prima paper, flowers, Say it in Crystals and a Prima resin flower on this tag.

I think the tag is my favorite!  I just love how soft and girly it turned out.  Thanks for stopping by today, and sharing in my paper journey.  I'm so glad that I decided to try out for the Prima Design Team.  It stretched me creatively and forced me to work with what I had on hand. Thank you, Prima, for the opportunity.  I can't wait to see who gets chosen.

Blessings,

Close to My Heart, Birthdays and a Winner!

Alright, I will not delay this any longer. I know that you've been waiting to find out who the winner of the My Memories V.3 is..... CONGRATULATIONS! Marianne Fisher. I hope you enjoy creating with your new software! I can't wait to see what you come up with!
In recent news, I received my order this week from a company called Close to My Heart, and I loved it. This is what I ordered:
Canvas badge buttons
irresistibles lots of dots
clear acrylic cards
basic mini ink pads

Once I tore open the box, I could not wait to use my new toys. So, considering that I had four birthdays this week, I decide to get right to work making a birthday card.
I started with the clear acrylic card as my base and My Minds Eye Paper. If you've never made a card using acrylic, I encourage you to give it a try, it's so pretty, and unique. I used the mini ink pads to distress my paper, and they are the best inks I've ever used! I am not compensated in any way for saying that, I truly like this ink, and it will probably be the ink I buy for all of my future projects.

I fussy cut the butterfly from the patterned My Minds Eye Paper, then glued it to a chipboard butterfly from my stash that I had inked. Then adhered 3 pearls from my stash. The Happy Birthday lettering is from The Girls Paperie sticker pad.  The tan lace trim I ordered from a daily deal site called Pick Your Plum... it's local, so I don't pay shipping!
The resin flower I also ordered from Pick Your Plum. The frame is from Prima Marketing.

This is the inside of the card, once again more My Minds Eye Paper, and the rub-ons are from my stash  I think they are from S.E.I.
So if you've enjoyed what you see here, I encourage you to visit the Close to My Heart web site and place an order. My friend Cheri from DJ Sundries gets credit towards her new cricket cartridge when you order. So go show her some love. :-)
Thank you for stopping by today, I hope this helps to get your creative juices flowing.
Have a great weekend,

Wedding Memories Vintage Chipboard Album

I'm sure that I don't need to state the obvious when I say that It's been a long time since my last post.   It has been a very busy yet memorable summer. I've just recently finished up the planning of the wedding of my dear friend. I was so honored that she asked me to be her wedding coordinator! I will post some pictures soon of some the wedding design ideas in hopes that you will be able to use them.
I have also replaced my camera with something much better. After much research and deliberation, we finally  purchased the Canon SX40 HS 12.1MP Digital Camera with 35x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.7-Inch Vari-Angle Wide LCD. So far, I'm loving it!
Now I'm able to once again photograph my crafty endeavors to share with you all.
I'm so excited to share with you the chipboard album I put together for the bride and groom as a wedding gift.
For the entire album, I used K&Company Ancestry 12-by-12-Inch Paper Pad, Chipboard letters, and Jewel. The flower is from Prima marketing.

The first page of the album features K and Company paper, and chipboard sticker. The rub on and pearls are from my stash.
This page is also K and Company paper with 7 gypsies embellishments.
This happily ever after page is once again K and Company papers, and Prima marketing flower and tile.
Once again K and company paper is used here, and a Prima Marketing flower. I used a birdcage tag from The Girls Papery and a rub-on sentiment from my stash. The chipboard swirl is also from my stash, I inked it using Tim Holtz distress ink, then spritzed it with glitter mist, then adhered 3 small pearls from my stash.
Everything on this page is from K and Company, with the exception of the flower, it's from Prima Marketing. Can you tell that I enjoy their products? :-)
Yes, this page is all K and Company paper, chipboard sticker, and jewels.  The flowers are from Prima Marketing.Prima 543693 Sugar Plum Roses Flower Embellishments, Cinnamon
The small doily is from Micheals craft store. I used a brad from MME for the center of the doily.
I'll just let you guess what I used on this page. ( hint: it's the same as all the rest) I did use an old Stampin Up stamp for the "love" sentiment at the bottom of this page.
For the last page, I used a chipboard flor de lis that I found in the dollar bins at Micheals craft store. I inked it using Tim Holtz distress ink, and then sprayed it with glitter mist. Everything else on this page is from K and Company.

Remember that it's in the small details that really make an album; machine stitching, distressed edges, embellishments... All put together to show your love for another.
Thank you for stopping by today,
